In 1643, Roger Williams, founder of Rhode Island, wrote a dictionary translating the Algonquin language of the Narragansetts into English. On November 20, Loren Spears, director of the Tomaquag Museum in Exeter - the only Indigenous Peoples' museum in R.I. -will read from the 2019 edition of "Key Into the English Language" which includes Spears' preface and additional commentary on Williams' original tract.
